Mrs Funmi Ayeni

Funmi Ayeni is a passionate public interest lawyer and public administrator. She has been the Coordinator of the Lagos Public Interest Law Partnership since its inception in November 2012. As a lawyer and public administrator in the public interest field, she has worked on several initiatives aimed at understanding and tackling the factors which impede access to justice and the enjoyment of human rights. As the coordinator of the LPILP, she founded the Annual Lagos Pro Bono Week. Prior to this position, she was an associate at one of Nigeria’s leading law firms, Banwo & Ighodalo.

Funmi is a member of the Nigerian Bar. She obtained her LL.B and LL.M. degrees at the University of Warwick and University of California, Berkeley respectively. She also has a certificate in Public Interest and Social Justice from the University of California, Berkeley.
